I Am El Salvador/Yo Soy El Salvador
I am half Salvadoran. My dad was forced to leave his country and come to the U.S. because of the civil war in 1980. He took us to live in El Salvador from 2000-2004. El Salvador is my childhood, my second home, and part of my identity.
U.S. media and Trump have shaped and distorted the public's view of El Salvador and its people.
Salvadorans are more than our labels. We are kind, we are strong, and we are human.
The following creative was created as part of my passion project in BU’s ad program but with an effort to raise awareness and understanding of the Salvadoran community. Seguimos luchando siempre.
More Than Labels

Airport Infiltration
Inspired by Tom Kiefer's El Sueño Americano, a photographic essay about the personal items confiscated by US boarder patrol.
A History Of Hypocrisy
El Salvador and the US have a convoluted and muddy history. A history that has been forgotten. To inform the public of the story behind one "shithole country" we created timeline postcards.
